See All The Hair Changes On Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model's Transformation Episode.

Yes it's finally time for the make-over episode!

Every year each Next Top Model series brings their top finalists into the salon for a complete make-over, and our very own Hannah Devane is given the balayage look.

First off, gorgeous Dublin model Hannah Devane went into the Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model house with long dark brown hair, and tomorrow night's episode will see her get the dip-dyed look, with some blonde/caramel tones at the bottom.

Hannah gets the balayage treatment on tomorrow's episode.

And the Irish beauty isn't the only one undergoing a transformation, joining Hannah (21) in the salon are all her model housemates.

23-year-old mum from Birmingham, Tanya had to get the chop for tomorrow night's episode on Sky Living.

Tanya gets the chop tomorrow night.

There weren't too many drastic changes in the eagerly awaited transformation episode, although waitress Anastasia got the strangest hair change to date on the modelling series.

Starting off with beautiful long blonde locks, Elle McPherson orders the model to get bubble-gum pink hair! I don't know how that makes her look more modelesque, if anything it makes her look less natural... weird!

Anastasia goes pink, strange choice for a model?

Another girl that was sent to get the chop was 19-year-old Imogen. The girl with the amazing cheek bones looks much more improved after her mousey brown hair gets cut short.

Now the model has a short symmetrical do, with a tight blunt fringe and a darker all over colour. I think she looks spot on for the catwalk.

Imogen also gets the chop and goes darker.
Most of the other girls only had to endure a slight change with their hair, either slightly shorter, adding some lights or a small colour change.

The only other big transformation comes from complete outside Amy (22), the drowsy looking model goes from a dirty blonde to a pitch black in tomorrow night's episode.

Amy goes black and gets some longer extensions.

Check out all the make-overs tomorrow night at 9pm on Sky Living.

The Beauty Diary - Balayage

Dear Beauty Diary,

This week my main goal was to achieve the balayage look. The new trend has suddenly swept across the celeb nation with stars such as Jessica Biel, Rachel Bilson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Elle McPherson sporting the natural look.

So what is balayage? Well first of all, Bridget from The Salon IFSC tells me that the technique has actually been around for ages, but the style, which she says is "recession proof" is only just starting to get popular.

Cameron Diaz has recently tried out balayage.

So the main difference between balayage and getting highlights?

1. No roots people!! Yes balayage is designed to give the affect of natural hair tones, the top will always be darker than the bottom, so no need to top up every 6 weeks, you can leave it every 3 months if you want.

2. The colour is 'painted' onto your hair, instead of seperate sections being packed up so that every second strand has the colour.

3.Your hair colour will have much more natural tones as it is supposed to match up to your natural colour.

All the colours are only a slightly different shade to your own colour.

So this is the end result, but I'm going to talk you through each step. Like I said before, the best place in Dublin for balayage is The Salon IFSC. Stylists Danielle and Bridget both have experience in the technique but Bridget as been doing it for longer, so she did my hair this week:

1. Step one, you have to choose what type of Balayage you want. I had bright blonde going in to the salon, but I knew I wanted a dark chocolate brown at the top, falling into caramel/dark blonde at the bottom.

2. Bridget mixed up two different colours. First the chocolate brown for the top of my hair, to create the no root effect, and then the actual balayage mix, which picks up natural tones along your hair.

Getting my balayage on!

3. I was left to relax with a big mug of tea and magazines for about twenty minutes, before Bridget put an all over toner on my hair, from mid-lenght. Remember I wear Hotloxs Hair Extensions, so Bridget made sure to tone them all down.

4. Ta Daaaa, I was finished. Bridget gave me a beautiful curly blow dry with lots of volume and the balayage look was complete.

I have a much darker look all over with painted on lighter tones throughout.

Bridget says that balayage is easiest for brunettes, dyed or natural, because she literally "paints" the colour on with a brush. So if you want light blondes, or deep caramels on a brunette colour it is really easy to accomplish.

I had the toner put in because my hair was so blonde and I really wanted to tone it down, but most of you wont need that at all.

I instantly fell in love with the balayage look. As always The Salon IFSC always produce the colour and style exactly the way I want it.

Also if you are looking to walk on the wild side you can get balayage with red or pink tips, this would work lovely on a dark brunette or someone with black hair. But please God do not follow this horrible look from Kate Bosworth.

Kate went too far with her dip-dye look.

Overall I am so so so happy with the look. Like I said at the beginning of all this, Bridget said the look is "recession proof". I don't need to go back to the Salon IFSC for about 3 months now. In fact the more it grows out, the more natural it will look.

Long term this look is so much cheaper than highlights and looks so more natural. Models all over the world use this technique to give that natural and youthful look, and it genuinely makes your hair look like it has never been touched with dye.

If you have any more questions about the technique, leave a comment below or email me on msmaggiered@gmail.com.

I'll be back next week with another Beauty Diary, testing out a brand new beauty treatment. In the next few weeks I will be checking out the best make-up out there, starting laser hair removal and trying out a new hair extension technique.

Coming Soon - The Beauty Diary

Hey guys and gals, you have probably heard me waffling on about my new segment 'The Beauty Diary'.

Starting this week I'm going to document some beauty treatments from the incredible The Salon IFSC. Firstly I will be going to my favourite stylist in there, Danielle, to transform my look.

I want to transform my look like this, for The Beauty Diary.

I have always had a slight obsession with my hair, having died it bright blonde from about 15 onwards, and dealing with breakage and damage over the years from dying it red, brown, and back to blonde.

But since gettng my amazing hair extensions from Hotloxs Hair, my hair is looking glossy and bright but I think it's time to change my colour.

I've had tonnes of emails in from blog readers asking what Balayage is and how it works. It's become a celeb favourite with Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Biel and Rachel Bilson flaunting the style.

I've decided it's time to make my hair colour more natural. Balayage works to bring out only your natural highlights, so it will never have a block colour or a stark contrast.

It's rarely advertised in hairdressers but The Salon IFSC do the method and they do it extremely well. Some Irish fans of the look include Miss Ireland Emma Waldron who has always favoured her natural colour, the balayage simply gave her a sun-kissed look but kept her natural tones.

I'll be transforming my hair from this blonde look.
There are also many other beauty treatments I am going to try out and document over the next few months.

After I get my hair done I will be starting a full treatment of Laser hair removal on my legs. I will keep you updated every week!

Until next time,

xx

Sophie Anderton Jets To Dublin For Karora Launch!

Supermodel Sophie Anderton jetted into Dublin to launch the 'Passport to Flash the Flesh' Campaign for Karora fake tan.

The tanning company has seen tonnes of Irish celebs promoting their brand, such as Pippa O'Connor, Emma Waldron and Roz Purcell.

Now famous model Sophie is showing off their new eco chic mini bronzing mists. After constant bad news in the tabloids, it does look as though the 34-year-old model is finally back on the right track for her career.

If you remember the starlet was caught on tape working as a high-class prostitute and drug dealer, but the stunner looked in great shape at the launch.

Sophie is looking back to her old self these days.

The alcoholic brunette has settled down with boyfriend James Simpson, an internet entrepreneur, and stood by her side at the tanning launch.
The new Karora self tan is just €14.99. I have only used Karora once, as a spray tan in a Dublin salon and I have to say I was not happy with the result, it was very patchy and too dark.

But this new self-tanning mist seems more up my street, so I need to do some serious exfoliation and try out a lighter colour.

You Can Get This For Just €14.99

PS!!

You can buy the new range of mists at the amazing Ivory Closet.

Savvy Shopaholic - Bargain Of The Day

Ok I have to reveal a serious tanning secret!

There are so many tanning techniques out there, instant tanning, spray tan in a can, translucent spray tan that appears after a few hours and then of course you've got special organic tans in beauty salons. But I have to tell, there is only one tan that works perfectly for me everytime... St. Moritz!

Believe it or not I actually bought it a few months ago in Penneys, when I need a last minute tanning fix and I was so surprised by the results. The tan is instant and is in a mouse format, which might sound a bit weird! But because it is like mousse it is really easy to spread and you can see the colour straight away.

It doesn't come in different colours, but one layer is a medium brown, if you want to go for a darker look, I suggest putting on about two layers. And for a lighter more natural looking tan, I've mixed moisturiser with the mousse, and this creates a lighter tint.

That's today's bargain of the day guys and gals! If you have any specific beauty questions make sure to email me on msmaggiered@gmail.com or leave a comment below!

Rozanna Purcell Says Handing Over Her Crown Tonight Will Be Upsetting!

Stunning model Roz Purcell has told Maggie Red that she will definitely be "upset" when she hands over the Miss Universe Ireland crown to the new title holder tonight.

This years finals takes place tonight in Dublin's Burlington Hotel, and in just a few hours the sexy supermodel will be handing back her crown and giving it to a new hopefull.

The Clonmel native will lose her title that helped gain a top modelling contract with Donald Trump's agency in New York. Clearly she has massive shoes to fill, remember Roz is the most suessful Miss Universe Ireland to date, and she is still working her gorgeous ass off!

She told me this morning that tonight will definitely be strange for her:
"I'm kind of excited but I'm a little but upset about giving away my crown. I didn't really think about it until this week when people have started asking me about, I think it will be really strange not being able to say that I'm Miss Universe Ireland anymore. It's strange that there will be a new girl tonight, it came by so quickly"
Despite starting to grieve for her title, Roz gave some advice to the hopefuls tonight, the blonde beauty has already met most of the contestants and admits they are really well organized for tonight's event:
"All the girls this year seem to be so well prepared, they're all taking it so seriously. But when they go over to Brazil, it's really not a place for insecurities, the winner will have to be really confident. If you are lacking in anyway it really shows."

Despite losing feeling a big strange about tonight's event, the Roz admitted that the last twelve months have been her best yet and that she has made massive achievements:
"I'm really really happy with what I've done over the last year, I couldn't have asked for anything better."
It's true that the sexy model has already made a huge name for herself globally. The beauty has been shooting campaigns all around the world including stints in New York, South Africa and most recently the Sechelles. But apart from travelling to Coppenhagen to shoot for her much anticipated GOSH campaign next week, Roz revealed that she is relocating herself to Dublin full time now:
"I just moved into my new apartment yesterday. I'm basing myself in Dublin now for the next two months. I'll be splitting my time between here and London".
So that means more Roz for us then! Tonight some lucky girl will certainly get the chance of a lifetime, let's hope she tries as hard as our gorgeous Roz.

Hannah is tipped to win tonight.

So far Dublin native Hannah Devane is tipped to be taking the crown tonight. The 20-year-old has already caught the eye of Britain's Next Top Model judge Elle McPherson. The brunette shares the same model agency as Roz, the Andrea Roche Agency.

The Salon IFSC

IF you are looking for top stylists, relaxing treatments and top class service then The Salon IFSC is the perfect choice for you.

As you know I review a lot of different salons/services/products in the health and beauty world and The Salon IFSC combines everything I look for in beauty business. On entering the salon I am greeted with friendly staff and left to wait in comfortable surroundings with faux fur seats and beautiful candles.

Once I was greeted by my stylist Danielle (she came highly recommended) I was offered a cup of coffee, as most salons do. But the difference is this was a massive mug of coffee with a hand full of chocolate fingers on the side, so when they say coffee they really mean it.

I was really impressed by the entire set-up, the modern beauty salon is only open since September, but they have already built up a massive clientel and are constantly busy.

So what do they do there? Well honestly they provide every service you could possibly think of. I went there to get highlights, something you would think any hairdresser could do, but this was the best hair treatment I have ever recieved.

I've always wanted that Jennfer Aniston/Lauren Conrad hairstyle: subtle blonde with tones of brown and caramel. But everytime I have said that before, hairdressers have just put block blonde in my hair. Danielle, thankfully, really listened to what I wanted, and using four different tones in my hair, she gave me that sun-kissed look I have always been looking for.

So happy with my highlights from The Salon IFSC
As well as meeting my colour needs Danielle styled my hair exactly the way I wanted it. I can't tell you how hard it is to explain to a stylist that I hate flat hair, I want volume and a slight waive, but Danielle did exactly that no questions asked. It's clear that the customer always comes first. But at the same time all the girls were extremely helpful when it came to hair care tips. they won't do anything to your hair that may damage it. They are here to make your hair beautiful not just please you newest hair idea.

This attitude made me feel extremely looked after, knowing that I was leaving my hair in the hands of professionals who cared about my overall hair's health.

My natural look, dyed and curled by stylist Danielle

But there than hair-styling at The Salon IFSC. The modern set-up also has a beauty centre where they provide sensual massages, relaxing manicures and pedicures, make-up artists are available to beautify you for that special event and you can also induldge in Velashape, the slimming treatment that is proven to remove inches off your waist with no surgery whatsoever.

You can try so many innovative services at The Salon IFSC. As well as the Velashape weight loss treatment, which is showing to be a massive success, they also provide laser hair removal for both men and women. After a few sessions your legs/arm pits/any other areas will be completely hairless... FOREVER!

I found that this Salon offers more innovative treatments, beauty services and hair styling than any other salon I have seen so far. With so much going on I was worried that the environment would be too busy, and that would definitely put me off, but it wasn't like that at all. Although I could tell their business is doing extremely well, with the beautiful scent of lit candels, calm music and a gorgeous cup of coffee in my hand, I was able to sit back and relax, which is what pamerping is all about right?

Here are the full list of all The Salon IFSC's services, go on, induldge yourself:

Katie Price Demands Compensation For "Botched" Hair Extensions

Katie Price is bringing in the drama as usual!

The former glamour model is demanding compensation from a top Los Angeles hair salon after she spent $17,000 on getting her hair dyed and extensions that she claims were "botched".

Katie spent over five days in a top LA salon sying her hair from a dark brunette to a bright blonde, adding a full head of extensions in to add length and volume. But since returning to the UK her hair has began to fall out. (Well Duh dying your hair much lighter over 5 days is a bad call).

The 33-year-old is seeking a full refund plus compensation from Lea Journo, one of Hollywood’s most in-demand hairdressers, who has tended her hair three times a year since 2006.

Appointments with Parisian-born Miss Journo, who runs her own salon at the five-star Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel in LA and boasts a string of A-list Hollywood clients including Brad Pitt, start from $230 for a basic trim. A simple blow dry costs $153. Colour treatments and hair extensions start at $380.

Miss Price claims she made the 4830km journey to LA to have her hair lightened from brunette to blonde and to have hair extensions applied at the salon in December. And in keeping with her position as one of Britain’s most well-publicised stars, she made sure she was followed every step of the way by a crew from her reality TV show, Katie.

Miss Price, who says she uses the salon because it is "the best" for applying hair extensions, says she was told Miss Journo wasn’t available but was offered an appointment with another stylist instead.

But Miss Price, who spent 48 hours in the salon over five days and was worked on by a team of hairdressers, says she noticed problems after technicians began the colouring. She claims her hair became brittle and began snapping off half way through the treatment. (Once again.. DUUUH)

A source close to Katie says she knew something was wrong once she came back to the UK:
"It looked fine once it had been blow dried but Katie said it felt uncomfortable and the extensions were tugging at the roots,"

"When she got back to the UK she got a hairdresser to look at the extensions who said they had been applied unevenly. Her hair was very weak from the colouring. It was brittle and broke off easily, leaving different parts different lengths. At the front there were bits that were only a few centimetres long. The damage will take a long time to repair."

The mother-of-three was offered a 50 per cent refund and an invitation to return to have the work corrected. But she is seeking the full amount now.

Yesterday her long-time "colour technician" at the salon, Alexandra Thomas, said:
"None of us had any idea who she was when she started coming here. She’s like Britain’s answer to Pamela Anderson but not as pretty or successful, right? There was a big bust-up recently and Katie was making a stink."

"I can’t really talk about it but let’s just say I don’t think she’ll be coming back. It doesn’t bother us and to be honest it’s a relief. We handle the biggest stars in Hollywood. She’s a nobody."

Sources close to Katie say that since December she has spent $70,000 trying to rectify the damage. She claims to have had her hair checked by four independent hairdressers - including one from hair extensions company Great Lengths - who are prepared to corroborate her claims that the extensions were applied incorrectly.

Do you think she is right to ask for the money back? The salon shouldn't have dyed her hair if it was going to be damaged, but at the same time I'm sure she wouldn't take no for answer.

Lauren Conrad Launches Fashion & Beauty Website

Is there anything this girl actually can't do?

Our favourite reality star Lauren Conrad has launched her own fashion and beauty website.'The Beauty Department' is a site dedicated to giving make-up and hair advuce with the aim of helping young girls achieve the celebrity look without the price tag!

The former 'Hills' star said she had no one to help her with beauty techniques when she was younger:
"Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly and the results weren't always great. Our goal with 'The Beauty Department' is to provide girls and young women with a basic how-to of simplified versions of popular trends and styles that they can recreate themselves."

On the main page of the site readers are invited to e-mail any beauty queries to her and that she will cover "all kinds of hair+makeup how-to's, nail trends, skin issues, tools, current obsessions & inspirations".

So it looks like LC's career is getting back on track after her reality show was axed by MTV.

PS!!

The Olsen twins recently launched a fashion website of their own, dedicated to giving customers personal styling tips.

iWhite o2 Professional Review

Hey guys and gals

This week I am reviewing the amazing iWHITE O2 Professional!

I'm going to be honest I was nervous at home to start using an at home teeth bleaching product. I have ALWAYS wanted to get my teeth whitened, but with prices like €700 for laser teeth whitening and €600 for professional dental cleaning, it wasn't in my budget to indulge in a whiter smile and a boost in confidence!

The Product
iWHITE 02 Professional is an Oxygen activated teeth whitening kit that you can use in the comfort of your own home. 'Fade Street' beauty Louise Johnston , who uses the product, suggested the whitening treatment so I jumped at the chance to try it out.

So what's in the box and what does it do? Well firstly the aim of the system is to give you a white smile in just 7 days. This is what you have in store:

  • Easy to use complete whitening kit
  • Ergonomic tray for a customized fit
  • Oxygen activation of foam strip for optimal whitening results
  • Whitens lower and upper teeth simultaneously
  • Only 20 minutes a day, 7 days
  • Clinically proven safe and effective
  • Recommended by dental professionals

The Review

So the question is does the product work, is it easy to use and do I have a whiter teeth? Well first of all I certainly do have a whiter smile and I am honestly shocked at the difference it has made.
You have to use the kit for 20 minutes a day for 7 days in a row so be prepared to take some type out of your day. I used my iWhite every evening and sat in my pyjamas watching the soaps (perfect time I know). I didn't know what to expect at first but the process is actually really easy. All I had to do was place the two foam strips in the ergonomic tray (which is basically like a gum shield), you pop one on the top and one on the bottom and off you go!

I honestly felt that this service wouldn't work on my teeth, I am so bad at taking care of my own and they have always had a yellow discolouration. But after my first treatment everyone was telling me that my teeth looked so white and I was starting to show off my smile much more!
Fast forward to six days later and the results are amazing. After each treatment I was noticing that my teeth were really starting to shine and tonnes of people were commenting on my smile. I have to say I would recommend this product to anyone looking to change their smile and get a boost in their confidence. iWhite is really popular with brides to be and celebs heading to award shows as they can achieve that Hollywood Smile in only a few days.

Overall I'm giving this product a 9/10. The results are a complete 10/10 as my teeth are milk white but the only thing I would say is that the taste right afterwards isn't that nice, but as you can expect this is a product that is for dental purposes so it has that slight aftertaste! But if once you use mouthwash right after your treatment the taste disappears, so just keep that in mind.

I'm seriously excited about this new product. Now for just €29.95 you can transform your smile and get that Hollywood white that has the same results as laser teeth whitening that would cost so much more. I finished my treatment two weeks ago and the results are still amazing. I am brushing my teeth a lot more now as I want to keep that white smile!
I will definitely be getting this product again, it's perfect for an upcoming event, family wedding or even a big night out you're planning!

Remember people (yes this is great for girls or guys) you can get the same smile as Reese Witherspoon and Heidi Klum in the comfort of your own home.
